1972 - Elected as officers of the SSHS National Honor Society for the 72-73 school year were Dale Cherry, president, Tom Starkey, vice-president, and Vicki McFadden, Secretary.
1971 - Grooming was important to the SSHS Class of Sulphur Springs High School. The '71 seniors left floor-length mirrors to the high school as they graduated, according to Rhonda Crump, class president.
1909 - Woodmen of the World were making preparation for the "unveiling" of a marker at the Gafford's Chapel Cemetery, marking the grave of Harvey Green, an esteemed member of their organization.
1897 - "The cotton and the taters look good in this country," was the jottings in a Reilly Springs farmer's journal. "Plenty of moisture and the catfish are biting in Running Creek."
